Gerri McHugh

My Story
As a lifelong equestrian, Gerri McHugh began riding close to the same time she began to walk. Gerri grew up competing on both 4-H and breed circuits. As a young teen, she switched over to the Hunter/Jumper discipline, and competed on the Michigan Hunter-Jumper Association (MHJA) and Eastern-Western Horseman’s Association (EWHA) circuits. She was a also a member of the Michigan State Equestrian Team while simultaneously earning a BA in Communications from Michigan State University. As an adult, Gerri focused primarily on the jumper ring in the years between finishing her education and starting a family.
Gerri began teaching and taking clients to local, regional, and national competitions in 2000. Trinity riders have enjoyed much success on the Michigan Hunter Jumper Association and have competed at USEF Pony Finals in the hunters, jumpers, and medal, as well as Taylor Harris Children's Medal Finals, National Horse Show (NHS) Finals, Maclay Finals and USEF Hunt Seat Medal Finals.
Gerri strives to remain up-to-date with the always changing trends within the Hunter/Jumper world. However, my commitment to classical hunt seat equitation remains the foundation of my teaching. I am a board member of the Michigan Hunter Jumper Association. I have also had the good fortune of working as a vet assistant for a large equine practice for several years, adding another dimension to my knowledge as a horseman.

The Trinity
We call ourselves "Trinity Farms" because of the involvement of my daughters, Tess and Meg, from the inception of the business in 2000. Both girls have serve as assistant trainers and riders while simultaneously pursuing other careers.
Tess is a resident Radiology physician and Meg works in online child safety advocacy, though both are most at home on the back of a horse!
